Good Nutrition and Healthy Bodies
Nutrition is very important to the human body. For you to survive you have to eat food. Your body creates energy from the food you eat as well as getting the minerals and vitamins necessary for proper body function.
It is important to maintain a healthy diet. You have to provide your body with the things it requires. You don’t want to put potentially harmful poisons into it. You only have one body and it has to last the rest of your life. To ensure it is a long time, you must eat properly.
Everyone should keep a balanced diet. You can’t survive on protein or sugar by themselves. Making sure that your body is functioning properly depends on a combination of many factors. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has developed a set of guidelines for one to follow to ensure that they are maintaining a well-balanced diet. The Food Pyramid will show you the various food groups and what serving of each you should be consuming daily.
Everything that you hear about food is not necessarily true. You can probably recall your mom telling you some “important” information like acne being caused by eating chocolate? Or that the whole cause of acne is fried foods? These are just myths and are completely not true. If they were true then to get rid of acne would merely be a process of eliminating chocolate from the diet! It’s a given that they are not in themselves healthy but following unfounded advice can result in you cutting out something that perhaps your body needs. Your body needs vitamins, minerals and naturally occurring sugars which all come from food. If you were to cut out carbs altogether to attain a state of acne no more you would be missing an entire food group. It also totally ignores current information regarding hormones and acne. Carbohydrates are broken down by the body into glucose, the body’s own form of sugar. This sugar provides the body with energy. There are many forms of complex carbohydrates out there that are actually healthy!
Quite apart from eating three balance meals per day it is also important to consider healthy snacks for between meals. This proves to be beneficial to the body and will help you to feel better as well, especially if you have had an active day. Your body may not be able to wait between lunch and supper for a boost of energy that is needed; therefore a snack in between meals provides that needed “pick me up.” It will also help to “depress” that hunger feeling that will usually cause one to overeat in the evening. Then, the energy produced from the food that you have consumed, combined with a general lack of physical activity, gets stored as fat by the body for later use. This can lead to other health problems indirectly because of the possibility of unwanted weight gain.
Providing your body with the proper nutrition is the key to maintaining good health and proper functioning of the body. You don’t have to cut things out of your diet that may be unhealthy, like fries, however consume them in moderation, just like you are supposed to with anything else that you eat.
